AF-4X is a spectrum radio which was designed especially for public safety networks. These networks are used by government agencies and emergency service organizations to share public safety information in the best interests of the people. AF-4X gives us the freedom to customize the point-to- point links or backhaul links in the Rocket. Currently, there is a huge surge in demand for higher bandwidth in networks. AF-4X helps us utilize a 4.9 GHz radio band to the maximum possible extent.
AF-4X comes with a proprietary radio architecture which is best suited for long distance wireless communication. It is integrated with an INVICTUS core communications processing engine which overcomes the inhibitions of a conventional Wi-Fi chip to improve performance and maximize throughput. The spectral efficiency of AF-4X, which is a massive 17.1Mbps/MHz, is the best in the industry. Yes, that's right. Up to 11 different channel widths are supported by the AF-4X and these are selected as per the user’s discretion. As traffic isn’t always symmetric, the user is given an option to decide the uplink and downlink duty cycles.
Another important feature of AF-4X is precise GPS Synchronization. When more than one devices are present at the same location (or same tower), it becomes important to logically differentiate and identify them in order to avoid interference of signals. The right data has to reach the right destination. This is handled well by the AF-4X and thus provides network stability.
The AF-4X exhibits a +45 or -45 Degree polarization, so as to improve resistance to noise and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). It works on an airOS platform and provides a maximum throughput of 687 Mbps. It is mainly beneficial for public safety networks and it helps different levels in the government communicate with other agencies for services and possible solutions.
