EP-R6 is abbreviated as Edgepoint R6 router which offers an excellent combination of robust routing performance, convenience of passive PoE support and the fibre backhaul capability.
There are other available models other than EP-R6 in the market such as; EP-R8 and EP-S16.
The EP-R6 weighs as less as 605g and the maximum power consumption is 7W which excludes PoE output. Power options include VDC or PoE output and any one should be used at a time.
The EdgePoint mainly features Fibre protect which eventually reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) failures and consolidate the wired data backhaul to a single fibre cable run for long-distance connectivity and also to improve data signal integrity.
A simple single, compact controller avoids excessive maintenance and eliminates clutter, expensive cabinets, irrelevant installations. Redundancy and increased performance for outdoor wireless links have been provided due to powerful routing features such as link balancing.
There are two methods to reset the EP-R6 to factory defaults:
Runtime reset which is highly recommended, The EP-R6 should be running after bootup is complete. You just need to press and hold the Reset button for about 5 to 10 seconds until the eth4 LED starts flashing and then becomes solidly lit. And in no time, the LED will turn off, and the EP-R6 will automatically reboot.
Another method is that you just have to power-on reset Disconnect power from the EP-R6. Press and hold the Reset button while connecting power to the EP-R6. Keep holding the button until the eth4 LED starts flashing and then stops flashing after a few seconds. These two methods are just so easy that even a layman could understand. However, the package content also includes the quick start guide.
Hardware installation is done easier just like installing any other router with secured measures and precautions.
