UAP-AC-EDU is a UniFi dual-radio Access Point that provides a Public Address(PA) System. A PA system is basically used to amplify sound so as to make it audible to a crowd larger than normal. The UAP-AC-EDU supports a wireless connectivity between APs through a wireless uplink functionality. Four wireless downlinks can be supported upon just one wired uplink on a single operating band.
UAP-AC-EDU provides customization options to guest portals or hotspot support. By setting up the hotspot, the admin may limit the amount of data usage and the time for which the portal is accessed. The UniFi Aps have a few in-built facilities like billing integration, hotspot manager, voucher-based authentication.
The Software Controller of UAP-AC-EDU running in a cloud can manage multiple sites. It comes with an advanced speaker that is quite proficient in reproducing the voice. The sound output of the product is of superior quality.
Speaking in terms of topology, the UAP-AC-EDU requires a DHCP enabled network to assign an IP address to the AP and other systems in the network. The main management station may be at a remote location and run the software controller in a cloud, or it may be in-site and connect to the layer-2 network which is used to connect the rest of the devices.
The antennas used in UAP-AC-EDU to manage the dual band network provide a gain of around 3 dBi. The Dual-band Wifi or the Gigabit Ethernet provide the network interface for the device. The device can handle 250+ concurrent clients without any difficulties or issues. This simply resonates the efficiency with which the UAP-AC-EDU can handle high network traffic.
It is important that the UniFi Aps and a compatible Android or iOS device are connected on the same Layer-2 Level so as to provide Public Addressing ability. The UAP-AC-EDU is a very useful product for places where announcements are frequently made.
